Bangladeshi actress Archita Sporshia will play the role of Nargis in the Nazrul biopic

A much-anticipated biopic on legendary Bengali poet Kazi Nazrul Islam is in the works. Actor Kinjal Nanda will play the lead role of Nazrul in biopic. Bangladeshi actress Archita Sporshia will portray Nazrul’s first wife, Nargis.

Confirming her involvement in Archita Nazrul biopic, it is forbidden to talk about it now. But I have spoken with the director. You will know the whole story when the official announcement comes.

Actress Isha Saha is in talks to play Nazrul’s second wife Pramila Devi. Isha Saha, known for her work in Bengali cinema, confirmed the news in an interview, saying, “I have discussed at a very early stage. I haven’t even heard the script. So I can’t say anything definitive right now. Many such incidents happen every day, which means every film I am doing is not the same.”

The film “Kazi Nazrul Islam” features director Abdul Alim and JB Productions as the producers. Sougat Bose writes the screenplay, while Jai Sarkar directs the music.

The biopic promises to give a comprehensive look at Nazrul’s life, chronicling his journey from childhood to his last days. Kinjal Nanda, who will play the role of the poet, revealed his excitement and the challenges involved in portraying such an iconic figure.

“This is the first biopic on Nazrul’s life, which aims to capture his entire journey. I am delighted for the golden opportunity and I am fortunate that it has come to my doorstep. The character itself is very challenging,” Kinjal said  in an interview.

The film has an impressive supporting cast, including Kharaj Mukherjee as Fazlul Haque, Kanchana Maitra as Birja Sundari Devi and Bangladeshi actor Fazlur Rahman Babu as Ali Akbar Khan. Shantilal, Mukhopadhyay Nalinikant Sarkar and others will also act. The makers are also discussing who will play the role of Rabindranath Tagore.

With shooting to begin later this year, the biopic “Kazi Nazrul Islam” promises a visually stunning and emotionally powerful tribute to one of Bengal’s most revered poets.
